Groups

We are excited to offer several groups for parents who are looking for postpartum support. Queer and trans families in particular are subject to isolation and the impacts of societal queer and transphobia.  Check this links if you are interested in joining  the Queer and Trans identified parent's group click  and Trauma Centered Post Partum Support Group for Birthing Parents

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

Therapists who created Amanecer Counseling have previously worked as advocates for housing justice, healthcare policy advocacy, residential mental health, public schools  and as queer youth community organizers. Our therapists share histories of working within large social service systems and understand the difficulty of finding therapists who understand these systems personally. Amanecer therapists bridge the gaps often found in clinical therapy spaces- we believe that providers and direct care workers need nuanced support and understanding in their own care. . Our therapists share an understanding of the complex barriers to accessing mental health care  in our own communities.

Amanecer Counseling  believes that increasing access to consistent , sustainable therapy requires creative, collective effort.

We include therapists, clients and a broader network of community  in our effort to provide equitable rates that can sustain regular (weekly) therapy sessions.

If you plan to pay out of pocket for care, consider where you may fit in this ecology. We believe there is more healing , more joy, more love and greater benefit for all  in communities that share resources.

A note about this fee ecology:

Disrupters: Clients who have inherited wealth, access to financial resources through family or community support or who earn more than $100 K a year are asked to consider paying on the higher end of the fee scale.  Disrupters who receive care at this practice are disrupting the status quo of mental health business models by redistributing financial resources to support therapists who typically work with lower income clients.

Disrupters who pay $200 or higher, create the space for an additional client to pay $75 or lower for their care.

Generators: Clients who are typically employed and whose income generates enough stability to cover all basic needs without stress. Generators who receive care at this practice are contributing to a system of healing that de-centers scarcity and works to find balance in an unbalanced western system of mental health.

Generators who pay $100 or higher, create the space for an additional client to participate in group therapy at a free or reduced cost.

Healers:  Clients who are under-employed, artists and creatives, and lower income individuals pay $75 or less. Centering care for healers is made possible by the direct participation of generators and disrupters in this therapy practice.
